I just want to say a quick thank you to all those who participated in my little "post your favourite quote" thing I had going on, it was very useful and helped me to decide that that wasn't the project for me and I have moved on to a different project. But I am grateful to all those who took part so thank you.
My new project, well, that hasn't got off to the best start either, firstly I didn't know what to do, and then when I had chosen a theme, it turned out that it wasn't what I thought it was, but then I went with it anyway, then I ended up submerged in research and not knowing where to start making work! Disaster! So yet again I emailed my tutor, the poor woman is probably bored with me constantly emailing her, and she questioned why I had chosen this theme and that I should stop researching and actually just do some practical work... So then I felt more lost as I couldn't define why I had chosen my current theme! So...
Today I decided enough was enough and I threw aside the research and I jumped straight in and started creating... I am happy with what I have created in that I feel like I have had a breakthrough. I ended up creating 3 pieces of work, all completed too which I am pleased about. Then came the problem of wanting to do more but not knowing where to go with it, so I decided to give up for the evening and I will plough back into it over the weekend. Which is when I will be experimenting with my new toy.... I treated myself to a small screen printing kit and it turned up today!!! Can't wait to get started with it, I think it will open up a new avenue for this project and will possibly give me some direction for my work.
Ok, so now I know you are probably wondering what my theme is, well, it is 1950's Glamour. It covers a huge range of things, from icons like Marilyn Monroe to Glamour models of the 50's, who might I add were stunning women, and the pin up photos were a whole different kind of photo in comparison to today's take on "glamour" models. But, in all honesty, I am not sure why I chose this theme, so, until I can pin point the reason, I am just going to experiment with materials and created 1950's inspired work and wait and see what emerges and what direction I go in. I will post up photos of my new work as soon as possible and then I would be grateful of any kind of constructive criticism. Until then, I shall leave you waiting in suspense!

New Year, New Project
Ok, so the new year has begun, not off to the best of starts but oh well, it is a better start than that of 2010!
For me the word of the week is struggle! I am struggling with my new project, I have some ideas, just not sure what to do with them or where to start or even if I like the ideas! So, drowning in ideas and seem to not be able to find a way out to even start any work... Anyone have any suggestions?
Ok... here is an idea, anyone who is paying attention to me writing, do me a favour and list me your favourite quote or saying, whether it be a family saying or just from a film or song or advert, please just list it and also tell me where its from, I am formulating an idea as I type! Now I just need the help of the people, so please, help, my project now depends on all of you, no pressure!
Cheers :)
